We are currently looking for passionate and experienced Baker/Pastry Assistant to join our Kitchen team for the winter season in Hokkaido, Japan.
Position Summary
As an Baker/Pastry Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing and producing a variety of breads, baked products, desserts, cakes, pastries, and buffet presentations while maintaining quality, hygiene, and operational standards.
This position is offered under a seasonal employment contract for the winter season in Hokkaido, Japan.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Baker/Pastry Chef to prepare and bake breads, pastries, and bakery products according to recipes and standards
- Ensure consistency in product quality and presentation
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory control
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards within the bakery/pastry section
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Support the kitchen operation during peak service periods
- Work collaboratively with the Pastry/Bakery and Kitchen teams
- Adapt to high-volume and multinational clienteles
- To communicate with guests, understand their needs and providing accurate information and support.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 year of relevant working experience in Bakery/Pastry Kitchen or equivalent role
(Required for Japan work permit eligibility) - Minimum age: 32 years old (Required for Japan work permit eligibility)
- Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts is an advantage
- Experience in international hotels, resorts, or high-volume kitchens preferred
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work in a multicultural and fast-paced environment
- English communication skill is required; additional languages are a plus

Contract Duration
Seasonal contract for the Winter Season (exact duration subject to operational needs and visa approval).
Employees with good performance are also eligible to receive a contract for Summer in Japan or another country.

The path begins with introductory roles such as Kitchen assistant and Pastry cook then progressing to intermediate positions such as Pastry chef, Baker, and Demi chef de partie. The path then proceeds to specialized roles such as Chef de partie, Butcher, and Baker/Pastry chef. Subsequently, higher positions such as Head Pastry chef, Assistant Chief Executive, Head chef, and Trainer are accessed. Finally, the progression continues towards the roles of F&B Manager and Leisure Experience Manager, culminating in the final position of Resort Manager.
